Description

The Staff Electronic Engineer provides technical engineering leadership of electronic systems during the investigation, definition, design, development and qualification phases of multi-functional systems.

Responsibilities:

Using CAD/CAE tools as appropriate, the incumbent establishes functional specifications, identifying critical design factors and risks that meet customer needs and regulatory requirements
Designs circuit boards and sub-systems of a moderate to complex scope
Conducts theoretical and empirical analyses of complex core technology systems
Reviews overall design, specifications and experimental designs to ensure efficacy, feasibility and compliance
Participates on multi-functional development teams
Lead teams to improve product development process and/or resolve issues.

Requirements

Requirements:

Possesses relevant baccalaureate college degree and 10 years of relevant experience, or Masters degree(s) and 8 years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. and 6 years of relevant experience.
Works in cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing and Service, to improve processes and resolve issues that cross department boundaries.
Develops advanced concepts, tests, and designs for complex issues.
Focuses on key tasks when faced with limited time and resources.
Design experience in high speed/complex designs, including CPU designs.
Programmable Logic development in VHDL.
Knowledge of moderate analog designs.
Knowledge of working in a regulated medical environment.
Familiar with Risk Management tools and techniques; including FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis).
Quick resolutions for EOL (End-Of-Life) components issues.
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
Develop and drives project schedules at the sub-assembly level.
