Description
Neotope Biosciences, anew divisionof Elan Pharmaceuticalsfocused on protein aggregation diseases, is seeking a talented individual tolead asmall start-up protein purificationteam. The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD or the equivalentplus at least8 years of in depth protein purification and characterization experience and must be a highly motivated bench scientist. Will be expected to havedemonstrated proficiencywith traditional purification methods (e.g., SEC, IEX) as well as immunoaffinity purification of native and tagged proteins. Familiarity with immunoprecipitation and Western-blot methods are also a given. This individual will also be responsible for the endotoxin-free purification of antibodies from ascites and media for use in in vivo preclinical efficacy studies. Experience with difficult to solubilize and phosphoproteins is also desirable, as is experience in enrichment of proteins from primary tissue sources.
